Position: Student Electrical Designer

Location: Calgary, AB

The opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Student Electrical Designer to join our team in Calgary, AB, for a 12 or 16-month term, with flexibility to accommodate the successful candidate’s academic schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside a collaborative team of electrical professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Engineers and Designers in preparing technical drawings and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software, Revit, and drafting workstations.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to support accurate and coordinated design documentation.
• Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Collaborate with the project team and Project Manager to support project schedules, meet deadlines, and communicate resource requirements or issues.
• Attend and contribute to internal office and project-related meetings.
• Communicate with contractors and respond to technical inquiries.
• Provide technical and administrative support throughout all phases of a project.
• Help establish and maintain positive client relationships.
• Help ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Currently pursuing post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or REVIT an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Desire to work in a team-based environment.
