Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the operation of equipment in student laboratories under the guidance of a faculty member.
• Advises and assists students with theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory exercises, projects, and technical matters.
• Assists in departmental field work, where applicable.
• Assists in the preparation and marking of lab reports and laboratory assignments as directed.
• Operates, where suitable, and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of laboratory, research or other instruments and equipment.
• Assists in the fabrication and modification of laboratory equipment.
• Assists in the development of equipment manuals or other prepared material.
• Assists in the purchase of equipment and supplies.
• May maintain budget records for the department.
• Takes inventory and maintains records of department holdings.
