Job summary

Stantec invites applications for an Electrical Engineering Student internship in our Calgary office for a 12 or 16-month term. You will join the Buildings Engineering group and work with experienced practitioners on CAD/Revit drawings, load calculations, and lighting design for building projects.

You'll gain hands-on experience, learn to coordinate with clients and contractors, and develop professional skills in a collaborative team environment in a steady pace with potential for future

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Safety Code and Alberta Building Code.
• Basic understanding of building electrical equipment, life-safety, and lighting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD and Revit drawings for building projects.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop, and short-circuit calculations.
• Produce layout drawings for tender, construction, and record drawings.
• Prepare single-line diagrams and control schematics.
• Conduct photometric lighting calculations.
• Assist engineers and project managers in coordination and documentation.
• Prepare schedules for motors, communications, security, and lighting.
• Select electrical equipment and overcurrent protection devices.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Coordinate with clients and contractors.
