Primero Americas is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our growing team in Toronto. This full-time internship (~15 weeks) starts January 2027 and offers hands-on experience in an EPC/EPCM environment, supporting design, calculations, and project-related activities.

You will gain exposure to real mining projects, work with electrical diagrams, layouts, and vendor documentation, and collaborate with engineers and designers in a fast-paced setting.

Formación

• Currently in 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in electrical design within mining or industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Basic understanding of power distribution and electrical systems.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools is an asset.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsabilidades

• Assist with electrical calculations, equipment sizing, and technical documentation.
• Support the development of single-line diagrams, layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Work with designers/drafters to ensure accurate and compliant deliverables.
• Assist in equipment selection and vendor documentation review.
• Support engineers in power distribution design and related calculations.
• Participate in meetings, design reviews, and technical reporting.
• Learn and apply relevant codes, standards, and safety practices.

We specialize in the design, procurement, and construction management of mineral processing plants.

During this internship offers hands-on experience within an EPC/EPCM environment, where you will support the electrical engineering team in design, calculations, and project-related activities. You will gain exposure to real mining and industrial projects while developing practical technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

What we’re looking for:

• Currently in 3 rd or 4 th year of a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
• Interest in electrical design within mining or industrial environments

• Basic understanding of power distribution and electrical systems
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools is an asset
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Able to work in-person at our Toronto office, Monday to Friday
• Paid full-time internship (approx. 15 weeks)
• Must be part of a university-recognized internship program
