Job summary

Rising Edge Group in Calgary seeks an Electrical Engineering Co-op Student to gain hands-on experience in electrical systems design, analysis, and implementation under seasoned engineers. Preference is given to longer-term co-ops (8–16 months).

You will assist with projects across transmission, distribution, generation, industrial, and renewables while supporting documentation and testing activities. A strong academic foundation and readiness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• As a student, you are currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering diploma or degree program.
• Strong foundation in electrical concepts and principles.
• Familiarity with electrical design software and tools is an asset.
• Good problem solving and proactive work approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage time and multi-task effectively.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for Transmission, Distribution, Power generation, Industrial, and Renewables projects.
• Support senior engineers with project documentation, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Contribute to the analysis of electrical systems and prepare calculations and technical documents.
• Participate in site visits and coordinate between teams and stakeholders.
• Help test and commission electrical systems under supervision.
• Develop technical skills by using tools and software used in electrical engineering.
• Collaborate with engineers to contribute to project success.
