Job Description

As an Engineer, you will participate in projects related to the construction and reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants, focusing on the design of high-power switchgears and controlgears. This hybrid role can be based in the Greater Montreal area, Eastern Townships, or Baie-Comeau, with flexible work arrangements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design electrical power systems and layouts for hydropower projects.
• Develop diagrams and drawings for switchgear and controlgear, including medium voltage cabinets and control panels.
• Prepare project deliverables such as detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams.
• Perform or validate calculations for equipment sizing and cable gauge selection.
• Select materials and calculate quantities.
• Coordinate electrical work with other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for registration.
• Over five years of experience.
• Knowledge of Hydro-Québec standards or similar utilities is a plus.
• Experience with power distribution design software (AutoCAD, etc.).
• Fluent in French (oral and written); proficiency in English required.
• Knowledge of applicable standards including the Quebec Electrical Code.
• Resourceful, motivated, and committed to successful project delivery.
