Job summary

Toronto Hydro is hiring three Engineers to support the Electrical Distribution Power System in Toronto, Ontario. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with on-site Tuesday–Thursday and two remote days. The posted salary range is CAD 104,097 to CAD 146,959 annually, with a target 8% variable pay.

Final compensation reflects experience and alignment with responsibilities. Responsibilities include developing standards, evaluating proposals, ensuring safety and reliability, and leading projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of Engineering experience, preferably in utilities/manufacturing.
• Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment design and specification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specifications and standards; reviews proposals for technical merit and compliance.
• Assesses cost/benefit, safety, and feasibility; recommends optimal solutions.
• Approves equipment/material for Toronto Hydro systems based on tests and data.
• Develops technical training documents; contributes to standard practices.
• Leads or participates in projects; provides technical support and analyses.
