A utility company in Canada is looking for a Design Technologist to create detailed designs for overhead and underground utility systems. The ideal candidate will have a 3-year Engineering Technology diploma, five years of experience in the field, and advanced CAD skills. This role involves technical support, project management, and mentoring junior staff, contributing to innovative utility solutions. Offers a full-time position with a hybrid work model in Brampton.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 3‑year Engineering Technology program (Electrical Power or Civil Structural preferred).
• Eligibility for OACETT registration.
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience.

Responsabilités

• Create detailed designs of overhead and underground systems in CADD software.
• Manage scope, budget and material requirements for all assigned projects.
• Perform calculations and prepare detailed schematics for system expansions and rebuilds.

Connaissances

Advanced skills in CAD

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to solve moderately complex problems

Flexible attitude toward work assignment

Valid Class G driver’s license

Familiarity with design of overhead and underground distribution systems up to 44 kV
