Job summary

Kruger Products is seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer in Canada to supervise the electrical maintenance team and improve equipment availability on paper machines. Lead troubleshooting, upgrades, and obsolescence planning while ensuring safe, efficient operation.

Required is a degree in Electrical Engineering with 5–10 years of industrial experience, plus CAD skills (AutoCAD/Inventor) and familiarity with PLCs, drives, and HMIs. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

  • 5–10 years of industrial experience.
  • Strong understanding of safety in industrial settings.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or Inventor; familiarity with PLCs, drives and HMIs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising teams responsible for electrical maintenance and contractors.
  • Evaluating the skills of the electrical maintenance team.
  • Encouraging employee involvement in problem‑solving.
  • Overseeing subcontractors and preparing reports.
  • Following safe work procedures and reporting hazards.
  • Implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensuring proper functioning of production equipment and analyzing failures.
  • Organizing training for maintenance staff.
  • Monitoring obsolescence and upgrading components/software.
  • Collaborating with purchasing to optimize inventory and standardize parts.
  • Keeping electrical schematics up to date.
  • Being on‑call for operational support as scheduled.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supervising and continuously improving the availability of production equipment for paper machines. As a technical specialist within the electrical maintenance team, you will contribute to troubleshooting, modifications, equipment installations, obsolescence planning & upgrading.

  • Supervising teams responsible for electrical and electrotechnical maintenance, as well as contractors.
  • Evaluating the skills of the electrical maintenance team.
  • Encouraging employee involvement in problem-solving.
  • Overseeing tasks performed by subcontractors or external contractors and preparing administrative reports.
  • Following safe work procedures and informing your supervisor of any hazards or risks in the workplace.
  • Implementing new preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensuring proper functioning of production equipment, analyzing recurring failures, recommending corrective actions, and supervising their execution.
  • Participating in planning and organizing training activities for electrical and electrotechnical maintenance staff.
  • Monitoring the obsolescence plan and coordinating the transition from outdated components and software to new technologies.
  • Collaborating with the purchasing department to optimize inventory management and promote standardization of parts.
  • Ensuring electrical schematics of equipment are kept up to date.
  • Being available for on-call operational support according to a predefined schedule.
What We Expect…
  • University or college degree in Electrical Engineering or a related relevant discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Good understanding of occupational health and safety issues in industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor)
  • Knowledgeable in PLCs, Drives and HMIs
  • Collaborate across departments with operations and engineering

The starting range for this role is $90,000 to $115,000 or higher, depending on your experience.
