Job summary

EXP is seeking a Commissioning Specialist in Markham, ON to join the Buildings team in the MEP Sector. You will oversee commissioning services for mechanical and electrical systems, engaging with stakeholders to grow the commissioning service within Central Canada Buildings.

You will participate from initiation to completion, coordinate with disciplines, liaise with clients, perform design reviews, develop plans, and create reports. Travel within Ontario/GTHA is possible.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in commissioning, building system design/consulting, test and balance, or building automation systems
• Commissioning certification (CxA or equivalent) is an asset
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng) is an asset
• Ability to travel within the GTHA and Ontario with a valid G Class licence
• Familiarity with building envelope commissioning is an asset

Responsibilities

• Participate in commissioning projects from initiation to completion, including LEED-related commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects
• Attend meetings and coordinate commissioning work with mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, building code, envelope/science, and other specialty services
• Liaison/coordination with clients, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction
• Review owner project requirements
• Perform design reviews
• Develop commissioning specifications
• Create commissioning plans, checklists and tests
• Perform field visits and observe commissioning tests, including functional performance testing of HVAC and electrical systems
• Work with contractors in the field to resolve commissioning issues observed during testing
• Write field and final reports
• Create system manuals
• Oversee building operator training

What Your Experience Looks Like

• 4+ years of experience in commissioning, building system design/consulting, test and balance, or building automation systems
• Commissioning certification (Certified Building Commissioning Professional, CxA or equivalent) is an asset
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng) is an asset
• Ability to travel within the GTHA and Ontario with a valid G Class licence
• Familiarity with building envelope commissioning is an asset

The salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $90,000, with compensation packages based on skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and work location.
