Job Description

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer will work closely with production teams to support the design, development, and integration of high-voltage electrical systems for various projects in Canada and the US. The role includes providing ongoing technical support during project execution and commissioning.

VOS RESPONSABILITÉS
Conception et développement
  • Participate in designing electrical systems.
  • Contribute to control logic development.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, diagrams, and layout plans.
  • Select electrical components.
  • Produce wiring lists aligned with physical equipment layouts.
Essais et validation
  • Plan electrical tests on locomotives or subsystems at supplier sites.
  • Manage documentation, instrumentation, and testing coordination.
  • Define test specifications and technical requirements.
  • Incorporate applicable standards into design and testing processes.
  • Design and implement custom test setups.
  • Provide technical expertise and analyze test results.
  • Write detailed test reports and recommendations.
  • Ensure measurement quality and test accuracy.
Collaboration et communication
  • Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with other departments and offer technical support.
  • Mentor the electrical team.
  • Support technicians in troubleshooting and solutions.
PROFIL RECHERCHÉ
Exigences
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or recognized equivalency.
  • Member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with complex design challenges.
  • Ability to work in a structured project environment.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) due to client and procedural requirements.
Autres compétences
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and professional integrity.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Atouts
  • Experience in the railway sector (AAR, APTA, FRA).
