Job summary

BC Hydro in Surrey is seeking applicants for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) – Electrical. This permanent, full-time program offers a two-year rotation through four six-month assignments across engineering departments, with field work and design, building toward PEng with EGBC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Integrated Engineering recognized by Canadian Universities.
• Eligible for registration as an EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
• Two years or less work experience towards EGBC’s Professional Engineer requirement.
• Strong English communication, including verbal and technical writing, analysis, presentation and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and recognize when guidance is required.
• Driver’s License: Class 5 in good standing as a condition of employment for this job.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Engineers-in-Training (EIT) Program with four six-month rotations across engineering departments.
• Develop engineering skills through design, field work, and project management.
• Build skills and professional relationships through rotations and on-the-job experiences.
• Complete at least one field rotation and may work in a different region of the province.
• Contribute to real projects from day one as a valued team member.
• Participate in technical training and professional development activities.
