CIMA+ is seeking an electrical designer to join our Buildings team in Western Canada, working on diverse projects from planning through construction. You will help design, model, and coordinate electrical systems in commercial, institutional, educational, and healthcare facilities, under the guidance of a senior engineer.

You’ll operate in a hybrid Edmonton office environment, collaborating with engineers and other disciplines, while developing your skills and contributing to award-winning,

Qualifications

• Strong written and confident verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
• Experience using AutoCAD and REVIT considered a plus.
• Experience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, drafting, and modelling of electrical systems for buildings including lighting, lighting controls, power distribution, communication, security, and fire alarm.
• Working with engineers to ensure that design aspects have been incorporated.
• Coordination with other building disciplines.
• Design calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.
• Site visits to review existing site conditions or for documentation of ongoing construction projects.
• Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities.
