Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Richmond Hill, Canada. You will lead electrical design for large data center and technology projects, coordinating with engineers and disciplines to ensure on-time delivery and code compliance.

You will conduct site sessions with the Project Manager, review documents for conflicts, and contribute to the preparation of specifications and electrical systems designs, while upholding our collaborative,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis.
• Experience in electrical design for Data Center and/or TMT projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design and coordinate electrical design team on large data center/technology/media/telecommunication (TMT) projects through schematic design development and contract document phases
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule
• Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines
• Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
• Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems and devices
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents
• Provide construction contract administration as needed
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians
• Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Electrical Designer, youll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years experience in electrical design of Data Center and/or TMT projects in North America, (lighting/power/systems)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
