Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes.
- Design, develop, validate, and oversee the installation of electrical equipment and systems.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary projects by preparing electrical designs and concepts for electrical power and distribution systems.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to develop design concepts.
- Handle the design of lighting, modeling, fire alarms, communications systems, process control, and power distribution up to 44kV.
- Conduct project management for electrical infrastructure projects and power systems.
- Analyze technical problems and provide recommendations and solutions.
- Prepare specifications, contract documents, engineering progress reports, and ensure all designs conform to applicable codes and client standards.
- Supervise junior engineers and technologists by providing guidance and reviewing their work.
- Develop detailed designs for high and low voltage system requirements.
- Conduct applied research to provide optimal solutions for clients.
- Travel to construction sites to perform inspections and prepare reports.
- Provide consultation both in-house and on-site as required.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Strong knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC controls and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
- Proficiency in trade-off analysis and the design of electrical systems.
- Must have personal transportation and a willingness to travel to client sites
