Description

The ideal candidate for the power systems electrical engineer position will have past experience doing their own ARC flash studies, performing load flow studies and doing design work as it pertains to single line diagrams and general electrical specs for equipment such as circuit breakers, switchgears and transformers. The types of clients that they will be working with will be light industrial manufacturing site, downtown office buildings (power supply in in the duct banks to power the entire building) and a variety of pulp and paper, and mining companies.

MUST HAVES:

• Electrical Engineering Degree
• 5+ years exp as electrical engineer (4th years EIT or P.eng)
• Studies Exp. using ETAP or SKM (interchangeable) - needs to know how to do ARC Flash studies
• Short Circuit studies
• Needs past experience doing design studies (short circuit studies, grounding studies)
• Must be able to do single line diagrams
• Review equipment drawings, conduct design reviews, witness factory acceptance testing;
• Past exp. working with circuit breakers; switch gears.

NICE TO HAVES:

• P.Eng
• Light industrial or commercial HV electrical Equipment

• Ground analysis (High Priority)
• Ac interference (for t-lines, pipelines and railways) (High Priority)
• Short circuit / load flow (High Priority)
• Power factor (Med Priority)
• Arc flash (Med Priority)
• Transient voltage (Med Priority)
• Lighting analysis (Low Priority)
• Harmonic analysis (Low Priority)
• Lightning analysis (Low Priority)

• CDEGS (for grounding studies) (Mid Priority)
