Job summary

Lauren Services is a full-service EPCM firm supporting Energy projects, now seeking a Senior/Intermediate Electrical & Controls (EIC) Designer. You will own EIC design from concept through IFC, collaborating with engineers, PMs, clients, and fellow designers on oil & gas and energy projects.

The role requires strong EIC design capabilities, knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, and experience with AutoCAD (3D a plus). Hybrid work and a chance to grow within a collaborative team await.

Qualifications

Diploma or technical diploma in Electrical Design or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Experience in electrical + controls design for industrial/energy projects.
Solid knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Strong AutoCAD (3D a big plus).
Experience with control systems, instrumentation, and interface points.

Responsibilities

Lead EIC design packages from concept through IFC.
Create electrical & control system designs, drawings, and layouts.
Develop cable tray layouts, power & lighting plans, grounding and area layouts.
Produce single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O loop drawings.
Design control panels, marshalling cabinets, PLC/DCS interfaces; 3D modelling and layout coordination.
Compile electrical load lists, cable schedules, equipment lists, and BOMs.
Perform design calculations (voltage drop, lighting levels, tray fill, heat tracing).
Review scope and design quality; coordinate across disciplines for buildable designs.
