Job summary

NSCC invites experienced trades professionals to join the Institute of Skilled Trades as a Faculty member in the Electrical Construction & Industrial program. You will deliver theory and hands-on shop training, blending classroom instruction with real-world troubleshooting, while mentoring students and helping them build industry-ready skills.

Ideal candidates bring Red Seal certification, extensive journeyperson experience, and a passion for teaching.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Red Seal certification in Construction Electrician (required).
• Journeyperson certification as Industrial Electrician would be an asset.
• Minimum five years journeyperson experience in electrical construction and industrial trade.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety, mentorship, and lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver theoretical and hands-on shop training along with classroom instruction.
• Share real-life industry knowledge and troubleshooting experiences.
• Mentor and support students entering the trade.
• Help students build the skills employers are looking for.
• Promote and ensure health and safety practices in classrooms, shops, and labs.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors and industry partners.
• Stay current with evolving technology and industry practices.
• Participate in student advising, curriculum development, and work placement support.
