Job summary

Collins Electric Service Ltd in Ontario is seeking an apprentice (2nd to 4th year) to join our electrical team. You will assist with panel building, power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, and MCCs, and support maintenance in stamping environments.

A 442A or 309A training agreement is required and experience with electrical schematics, P&ID, and CAD drawings is valued. Candidates should be able to bend, cut, and thread conduit and work in hot and cold environments.

Qualifications

• Must have a current 442A or 309A training agreement with Skills Trades Ontario.
• Seeking a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentice.
• Experience with panel building is an asset.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining power distribution systems (transformers, switchgear, MCCs) is an asset.
• Experience in stamping environments with presses and light curtains/safety interlocks is an asset.
• Ability to read complex electrical schematics, P&ID's, and CAD drawings to meet OESC.

• Pay or shift range: $24 CAD to $36 CAD
  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Qualifications

• Currently obtains a 442A or 309A training agreement and is in good standing with Skills Trades Ontario.
• Currenlty looking for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentice.
• Experience with panel building considered an asset.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintain power distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, and motor control centres (MCC's), considered an asset.
• Experience working within a stamping environment, maintaining large-scale mechanical or hydraulic presses, including familiarity with light curtains, safety interlocks, and clutch/brake systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, P&ID's, and CAD drawings to ensure all work meets the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
• Ability to bend, cut, and thread conduit
• Able to work in hot and cold environments
