Job summary

ATCO Electric is seeking a Safety Codes Officer to apply Alberta Safety Codes Act, audit facilities, and provide interpretations of electrical regulations. You will interact with engineering, operations, and management to ensure compliance and improve the Safety Codes Program.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, field inspection experience, and the ability to travel to remote areas while maintaining professional relationships with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Alberta Safety Codes Act and related standards knowledge required.
• Experience auditing facilities for regulatory compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety code audits per Quality Management Plan.
• Review on-site drawings vs. regulatory codes and standards.
• Notify managers of regulatory violations and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare audit reports and share findings with stakeholders.
• Investigate safety code issues related to new facilities.
