ElderCare.com client is seeking a Controller to join their team in Ontario. This role oversees month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls within a PE-backed growth context.

Responsibilities include managing GL, intercompany, tax filings, audits, project costing, and working capital. CPA preferred, 5–8 years accounting experience, and people management experience are desired.

Responsabilidades

• Own the full month-end close process end-to-end, delivering accurate results to the VP Finance.
• Lead month-end and year-end close including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and intercompany activity.
• Prepare monthly financial packages with statements, schedules, variance analysis and management reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger and COA with reporting integrity.
• Establish and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures for compliance.
• Oversee tax filings, payroll remittances, audits, and coordination with external advisors.
• Oversee project/job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and project profitability.
• Manage inventory accounting, valuations, counts, and cost flows.
• Provide oversight of A/R, A/P, payroll, cash flow forecasting, and working capital.

About the Opportunity

• · Own the full month-end close process end-to-end, delivering accurate, on-time results to the VP Finance
• · Lead the full month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and timely delivery of accurate financial results.
• · Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including financial statements, supporting schedules, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and management reporting.
• · Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accurate financial data, reporting integrity, and alignment with business reporting requirements.
• · Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• · Manage indirect tax filings, payroll remittances, corporate compliance requirements, audit support, and coordination with external advisors and auditors.
• · Oversee project and job costing activities, including monitoring project performance, analyzing cost variances, maintaining work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, supporting revenue recognition, and reporting on project profitability.
• · Manage inventory accounting processes, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, physical counts, and the flow of costs through operational and financial reporting systems.
• · Provide oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, collections, cash management, and cash flow forecasting to ensure effective working capital management.
• · Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes through financial modeling, cash flow analysis, variance reporting, and operational performance analysis.
• · Lead and develop the accounting team while driving continuous improvement, process automation, systems optimization, business integration initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance financial operations and reporting accuracy.

About You

• · 5-8 years minimum of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• · CPA designation preferred
• · People Management / Supervisory experience

Salary Range

$125,000 - $145,000/year
