Job description

THE ROLE

As an EHS Specialist, you are part of the EHS Service organization of the Benelux, consisting of 3 people. In this position, you are one of the experts for the themes of safety, health and the environment. It concerns a role for 32 hours per week.

Job Description

• Acting as a prevention advisor for our various locations (Waterloo, Brussels, Gembloux).
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating the wellness policy in accordance with the Dynamic Risk Management System outlined in the Royal Decree on Wellness Policy.
• Coordinating activities and obligations as the local point of contact for Belgian government agencies (Valipac, FAGG, FAVV).
• Conducting and overseeing EHS inspections and audits at BASF Benelux locations.
• Serving as the secretary of the CPBW (Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work) and actively participating in discussions regarding workplace prevention and protection.
• Creating awareness around safety by organizing workshops and training sessions (e.g., Safety Days).
• Coordinating the activities and obligations of the company's emergency organization.
• Being available in case of emergencies as a member of the crisis team for Belgium.
  
  

Requirements

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field and you have successfully completed the training to become a prevention advisor level 2.
• You have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position.
• You have knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001 management systems.
• You have additional diplomas in the field of safety science and the environment.
• You are fluent in French, Dutch and English, you communicate with ease at different levels within the organization.
• You are good at setting priorities and know how to switch smoothly between the different parts of this role.
