Job summary

Plasti-Fab, a Carlisle Company, is seeking an on-site EHS professional to coordinate environmental, safety, and health activities across Crossfield, AB. You will develop, implement, and maintain policies, training, and programs in line with corporate initiatives and provincial/federal regulations.

The role involves ensuring WHMIS/GHS compliance, incident investigations, and continuous safety improvements. A strong background in manufacturing EHS with ISO experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of valid certification for Standard Intermediate First Aid.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations.
• Experience with formal problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Ability to function in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in environmental science.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and improve EHS programs to boost safety and environmental compliance.
• Develop and administer EHS training for all employees.
• Follow incident management, investigations and reporting.
• Coordinate regulatory compliance and SOP/WI integration.
• Create training programs to reduce operational risks.
• Maintain EHS documentation and audits for ISO standards.
• Support ISO14001/9001 certifications and safety program updates.

JobSummary:

Thispositionis on-site andwillberesponsibleforcoordinatingand executingenvironmental, safety, and health activitiesthat supportprimarilythe corporate initiative inCrossfield, ABEPS plants with additional support to other plants, as required.Thisroleincludesbeing directlyresponsibleforthecreation, adoption,implementation,maintenance,andimprovementofthefacilityenvironmental,safetyandhealth,as well as policies and procedures.

DutiesandResponsibilities:

• OverseetheEHSprograms andinitiatesactivitiesthatwillimprovethelevelofpersonnel safety and health and environmental compliance.


• DevelopandadministerEHS trainingforallemployees(if required, includingoutsidesalespersonnel,office,etc.)


• Follow incident management processes and conducttimelyincidentinvestigationsandensuretimelyreporting.


• Resource expert on EHS regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures and the and adoption into SOP’s andWI’s.


• Create and execute employee training programs to reduce operational risks.


• Ensurethatallcorrectiveactionsandrecommendationsare completed and communicated within the expected timeframe. Examples include the following: incidentinvestigation actions, audit findings, maturity assessments, andsafetycommitteemeetings.


• ReviewandupdatetheEHS policiesandproceduresinaccordancewithCompanypolicies andin compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.


• MaintainWHMIS and GHS requirements for hazard communication and keepMSDS current.


• CoordinateIndustrialHygienesurveysasrequired(air,noise,ergonomics,etc.)


• Ensurerequired EHS documentation is completed for all new processes, materials, and equipmentincludingSOPs, JSA’s, and LOTOprocedures.


• ReviewsafetyrelateddocumentsandnarrativessuchasSafetyCommitteeminutes, inspectionreports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, and near miss reports


• Keep records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, and dates and results of workplaceinspections.Maintain and submit documentation as required.


• Maintain allweekly, monthly, and yearlysafetyinspections


• Maintain allhazardousmaterialandhazardousmaterialareachecks


• Management representative forISO14001 / 9001certifications


• Overseeallyearlyupdatestothe safety program,includingtheSafetyManual,InjuryIllnessPrevention Plan, Emergency Procedures Manual, and the Emergency Contingency Plan

EducationandExperience:

• Bachelor's degreepreferredin environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, engineering, or related fields. ThreeyearsprovenexperienceinEHS.

• Sevenyearsproven experiencein EHSin a manufacturing settingwithout aBachelor’sdegree.

• Experience in Alberta and Manitobaprovincial regulationsand ISOstandards


• Experience in manufacturing or chemical process environment

WorkingConditions:

• Significanttimeisspentontheproductionfloor(60%).

• Exposuretovaryingtemperaturesinmanufacturingenvironment.

• Monday–Friday,8am–5pm.Facilitatingtrainingonothershiftsoccasionallyrequired.
