Job summary

NWI Precision is seeking a highly organized and experienced Master Scheduler to lead production planning and scheduling efforts. This role is critical for driving operational efficiency and ensuring timely delivery in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include developing production schedules, managing work orders, and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve delays. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace or manufacturing, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in master scheduling within aerospace, automotive, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems and scheduling methods; experience with Visual, Microsoft Access, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • APICS training or certification is an advantage.

Job description

NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components for the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. Operating from a 120,000 sq. ft. facility at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto, our dedicated team is committed to delivering the highest quality products to specifications and on time. As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a highly organized and experienced Master Scheduler to lead our production planning and scheduling efforts. This critical role will drive operational efficiency and ensure timely delivery to our valued customers.

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing production schedules that align with customer requirements, internal capacity, and material availability. This individual will lead the scheduling process from order release through to final delivery, working cross-functionally to resolve delays, manage capacity, and ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and manage production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, inventory levels, and material availability.
  • Ensure 100% on-time delivery (OTD) for assigned customer and product portfolios.
  • Publish weekly production schedules and track schedule adherence with daily metrics.
  • Maintain real-time updates across all work centers, inspection, and shipping departments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to resolve production issues and ensure flow.
  • Identify risks and bottlenecks in production and implement corrective actions in partnership with other departments.
  • Manage work orders, resource allocation, and capacity loading to minimize delays.
  • Coordinate outside processing activities and customer priorities with the supply chain and shipping teams.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and support alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA regulations, and other applicable aerospace standards, as well as nuclear industry standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide coaching or feedback as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Certificate or degree in production planning, manufacturing, process engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in master scheduling within aerospace, automotive, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems and scheduling methods; experience with Visual, Microsoft Access, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • APICS training or certification is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Project, and other relevant scheduling tools.
