Job description

The Structural Engineer is an integral part of the Engineering team responsible for the successful delivery of projects worldwide. They play a key role in designing and engineering water ride structures, aquatic play structures, and other components that make up ProSlide's award-winning rides.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing structures, including supports, thematic elements, and start towers, adhering to regional codes and standards.
2. Design structures using materials such as steel, reinforced concrete, and fiberglass.
3. Document calculations and technical findings through reports, specifications, and other technical documentation.
4. Collaborate with engineers-in-training and structural designers on drawings and shop drawings.
5. Develop design specifications and Statements of Work (SOW) for third-party consultants.
6. Review drawings, designs, and calculations from third-party consultants.
7. Create analytical models using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for input into FEA software (ANSYS, Staad.Pro, RFEM).
8. Assist in creating and reviewing shop drawings, specifications, and installation instructions.
9. Support the approval process for ProSlide products with international regulatory agencies.
10. Participate in developing engineering tools to enhance team efficiency.
11. Conduct on-site inspections and ride verifications; international travel may be required.

Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience, focusing on steel structures and concrete foundations, compliant with Canadian, US, or European standards.
3. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in a Canadian Province; PE registration in the US is an asset.
4. Experience with structural analysis and design software (RFEM, Staad.Pro, etc.) and finite element software (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.) is an asset.
5. Experience designing for static, dynamic, and fatigue loads.
6. Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit and SolidWorks experience is a plus.
7. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and experience managing projects from concept to construction.
8. Knowledge of construction documentation and submittal management.
9. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
10. Excellent teamwork, leadership, time management, organizational, and communication skills, including technical writing.
11. Experience with 3D modeling of complex structures and familiarity with the aquatics, entertainment, or leisure industries are assets.
