The Lead, Health Policy, is a key member of the Program Design team, responsible for leading the development, planning, and implementation of evidence-based program policies in ColonCancerCheck Screening and GI Endoscopy Programs. This role supports clinical and scientific leadership and involves provincial initiatives related to colon cancer screening and endoscopy. The Lead develops policies, program designs, and materials, and supports change management, implementation, and program improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor, collate, and synthesize evidence, trends, and best practices for planning and decision-making.
  2. Develop needs assessments, jurisdictional scans, briefing notes, options analyses, and impact assessments to guide policy creation.
  3. Prepare reports, policy papers, briefing notes, and presentations for diverse audiences.
  4. Support clinical and scientific leads and external consultants by developing presentation materials and obtaining expert input.
  5. Collaborate with external vendors on product development (e.g., modeling, evidence reviews).
  6. Support internal working groups and external panels involved in policy and program design.
  7. Communicate complex concepts effectively through excellent written, verbal, and visual skills.
  8. Approach problems proactively and recommend practical solutions.
  9. Provide project updates and feedback to management and stakeholders.
  10. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  11. Promote collaboration and teamwork to achieve consensus and team goals.

Qualifications for Success:

  1. An undergraduate degree (master’s preferred) in public health, health sciences, health administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  3. Experience in policy development, impact assessment, and environmental scans.
  4. Ability to synthesize scientific research and knowledge of evidence review frameworks.
  5. Knowledge of program evaluation and Ontario’s healthcare system is an asset.
  6. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  7. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  8. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic environments.

Location: GTA, Ontario (hybrid; subject to change)
