The Lead, Health Policy is a key member of the Program Design team, responsible for leading the development, planning, and implementation of evidence-based program policies in ColonCancerCheck Screening and GI Endoscopy Programs. The role involves supporting clinical and scientific leadership and participating in provincial initiatives related to colon cancer screening and endoscopy. The role includes developing policies, program materials, and supporting change management and program improvements.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Monitoring and synthesizing evidence, trends, and best practices for planning and decision-making.
  2. Developing needs assessments, jurisdictional scans, briefing notes, options analyses, and impact assessments.
  3. Preparing reports, policy papers, presentations, and briefing/issue notes for various audiences.
  4. Supporting clinical/scientific leads and external consultants with presentation materials and expert input.
  5. Collaborating with vendors to develop models, evidence reviews, and inform policy development.
  6. Participating in internal and external expert panels and committees for policy and program development.
  7. Communicating complex concepts effectively through written, verbal, and graphical means.
  8. Providing strategic and tactical insights, problem-solving, and project management.
  9. Promoting teamwork, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications for success:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, health administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in policy formulation, impact assessment, and environmental scans.
  • Experience in synthesizing scientific research and understanding evidence review frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s healthcare system, public health, and cancer screening is advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proven leadership in complex projects within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and work independently under pressure.

Location: GTA, Ontario (hybrid; may change)
