Job description

The individual will work in the FRMT (Financial Resource Management Technology) Data Services team within Citi’s Treasury Global Function. The Data Services team is responsible for Data Steward activities, liaising with Data owners, Business Treasury, and Chief Data Office teams to provide business support and ensure proper governance of Citi Data Governance Policy & Standards. This group plays a critical role in strategic projects supporting regulatory feedback and shaping Citi’s data infrastructure. We are seeking a Data Lead Analyst with 8-10 years of experience in data management.

The Data Lead Analyst is responsible for leading activities to support the implementation of the Data Governance Policy, Data Risk, and Control framework. This role involves defining the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, Data Risk and Control Framework, and Data Taxonomy. The candidate must work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and possess strong interpersonal and program management skills.

Responsibilities :
  1. Implement, enforce, and improve the data governance strategy, framework, and procedures.
  2. Support data strategy, drive data management, Data quality rules, lineage, and taxonomy across all of FRMT.
  3. Define, monitor, and enforce KPIs related to compliance with the data governance policy.
  4. Liaise between the Enterprise Data Office, Business/Function aligned Data Offices, and other key partners to advance the Data Transformation agenda.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with key partners to ensure continuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance of data quality.
  6. Lead facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of complex cross-functional problems within and across programs and senior stakeholders.
  7. Develop content for relevant governance forums.
  8. Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, and escalating issues transparently.
Qualifications :
  1. 6+ years of experience in analyzing and managing data.
  2. At least 5+ years of experience in banking and financial services, Capital Markets, information technology, and data governance.
  3. 5+ years of Data Analysis / Data Investigation.
  4. 5+ years of SQL proficiency.
  5. High proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis.
  6. Deep understanding of SQL syntax across various database engines (SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, Teradata).
  7. Experience in creating data flow diagrams and documentation for data integration processes.
  8. Experience in data governance, strategy, and data operating models.
  9. Effective collaboration skills and stakeholder management across different levels.
  10. Preferred experience in Banking or Finance industries.
  11. Strong negotiation, influencing skills, and organizational savvy.
  12. Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
  13. Proficiency in presentation tools.
  14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  15. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, team player with high energy and a desire to learn.
  16. Knowledge of business analysis procedures and technical concepts.
  17. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  18. Ability to work with large data volumes and understand logical data structures.
  19. Experience in conducting data analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  20. Ability to work effectively with global teams and leverage existing systems.
  21. Demonstrate ownership and initiative.
  22. Develop solutions for data integration, consumption, and generation.
  23. Handle BAU development requests and provide Level 3 support.
Education :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
