What You’ll Be Doing
As an integral member of CIBC’s National Office, Personal Banking & Imperial Services, reporting to the Sr. Director, Channel Strategy and Analytics, the Senior Manager, Data Analytics will support development of the strategic roadmap for Personal Banking & Imperial Services. The Sr. Manager will play a key role in special initiatives and programs to ensure strategic alignment and prioritization. You will be accountable for providing analytical advice, direction, and decision support related to the overall performance of Retail Channels and their workforce. You’ll support senior management with analysis and define short-term strategic initiatives and longer-term strategic plans focused on accelerating business growth.

How You’ll Succeed
- Insights and Analytics - Use a variety of analytical methods (descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive) such as causal inference, time series analysis, and hypothesis testing to find actionable insights. Based on evidence, make recommendations to leadership and stakeholders to support strategies and drive decisions.
- Data Collection/Acquisition - Identify gaps and establish business cases for additional data collection and acquisition requests. Support business stakeholders in identifying needs for additional data acquisitions and coordinate plans to orchestrate data acquisitions.
- Stakeholder Management – Support relationships with key business stakeholders to develop, execute, and monitor complex insights and analytical solutions to business problems using various analytical approaches. Support strategic planning across the lines of business within National Office, Personal Banking & Imperial Services, and help the leadership team set a strategic agenda and an integrated plan.
- Strategic Thinking – Make informed business decisions through forecasting and planning, presentations to executive audiences, and conveying complex ideas clearly. Drive, manage, and execute business initiatives, providing recommendations and best practices to solve strategic problems.
- Problem Solving – Identify, frame complex problems, and execute analysis with cross-functional partners. Synthesize key findings to help teams reach decisions. Perform deep dives into Banking Centre Strategy, mapping the value chain and opportunities using storytelling approaches.
Who You Are
- You have a degree. BA/BSc or higher in mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, or related quantitative fields.
- You have 3 to 5 years of work experience in statistical analysis, with proficiency in methods and techniques to analyze data and derive insights. Strong experience in programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, SQL for data manipulation, model development, and automation.
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in model development, leading the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytical models, including predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in creating dashboards, with skills in Tableau; experience with Power BI is an asset.
- You have 1 to 3 years of experience delivering executive presentations with strong analytical and communication skills.
- You understand machine learning algorithms and frameworks, including supervised and unsupervised techniques.
