Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of our fleet, including Boeing 787, 737 NG, 737 MAX, and De Havilland Dash 8-400 (Q400). The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, utilizing your troubleshooting and problem-solving skills while prioritizing safety. Embody teamwork and integrity, aligning with WestJet's core values.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence (M2 preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience, endorsed on Boeing 737, 787, Q400, or equivalent
  • Strong technical aptitude in airframe, powerplant, and flight control systems
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Passport, Permanent Residency, or open work permit with PR in process)
  • Ability to obtain Radio Licence within 6 months of employment
  • Physical ability to lift 62 lbs and work in various positions for extended periods
  • Capability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and noisy environments
  • Ability to maintain a positive fit test for safety equipment including respirators
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Willingness to travel for base coverage or rescue trips
  • Proficiency with maintenance software and Microsoft Office
Conditions of Employment
  • Technical Aviation diploma from a recognized institution
  • Obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operators Permits (AVOP)
  • Pre-employment physical, audiometric testing, police background check, and criminal record check
  • Pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening

Preference will be given to candidates with qualifications exceeding minimum requirements.
