About The Role

Are you interested in working on cutting-edge security services and technologies with a broad impact across teams? The Platform Security team develops security services that are used organization-wide, strengthening Confluent’s security posture and enabling various product and engineering initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Create and enhance services, systems, and infrastructure that provide security functionality and compliance for Confluent Cloud.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to gather requirements and ensure security systems meet their scalability, functionality, and availability needs.
• Work across teams to deploy production changes to Confluent Cloud services and infrastructure.
• Maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure smooth operations of Confluent Cloud services.

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience with a strong delivery record.
• Expertise in Cloud Native technologies and managing large cloud workloads; experience with large-scale infrastructure deployments is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi.
• Experience deploying infrastructure with Terraform and coding in Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
• Strong understanding of Distributed Systems design.
• Experience with telemetry tools for monitoring production systems.
• Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting critical services.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• Experience supporting on a rotating on-call schedule.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
