Job description

Join the Global Credit and Loans Technology team as we continuously deliver new solutions to modernize operational processes within our Loan Origination and Servicing business by delivering enterprise-grade data solutions. We are seeking a talented and adaptable data developer to help us build and maintain data solutions for our clients across various departments including Corporate Banking, Global Credit, Business & Client Services, Technology, Risk, Finance, Audit, Compliance, Commercial Banking, City National, and Wealth Management.

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Developer, your responsibilities encompass the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and knowledge transfer to support teams. You will operate in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, and communicating directly with data leads, IT architects, and business stakeholders to ensure your data solutions meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deploy reliable data solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Assess, research, and analyze business and system needs, exploring alternative options to recommend suitable technology solutions and designs that consider reusability, data sharing, user experience, performance, and security.
  3. Drive application modernization and change initiatives.
  4. Prepare high-level and detailed technical specifications.
  5. Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery to enhance quality and efficiency.
  6. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive project progress and benefits.
Qualifications
Must Have
  • 5+ years of experience profiling data within RDBMS systems (e.g., Sybase, MS SQL, DB2, Oracle), including writing queries (SQL, Stored Procedures) and query performance tuning.
  • 5+ years designing and developing ETL processes, preferably using IBM InfoSphere DataStage or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of Linux systems, shell scripting, DevOps processes, and source code management (Git).
  • Experience in application data store concepts and building relational data structures that are robust and performant.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Nice-to-Have
  • Background in Capital Markets, especially in Corporate Lending (Loan Origination & Servicing).
  • Experience with data lakes (Hadoop) and analytics platforms (Snowflake, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of applications leveraging React, .NET Core (C#), IIS, Windows Servers, Liquibase, Docker, and Python.
  • Experience in building standardized data interfaces (e.g., FpML, CDM) for reuse across services.
