About The Role

Backend engineers at Confluent develop foundational cloud frameworks and services that support our platform in the cloud. As a senior engineer, you will lead technical delivery, utilize your expertise in cloud-native, large-scale distributed systems, and ensure the operational excellence of our Compute Platform.

What You Will Do

• Build mission-critical backend services that provide value to our customers.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues involving microservices, containers, and virtualization.
• Ensure operational readiness and meet SLA commitments.
• Drive process and operational improvements.

What You Will Bring

• At least 2 years of experience designing, building, and supporting backend systems in production.
• Proficiency in a major programming language (Java, Go, C/C++, Python, etc.).
• Experience deploying distributed systems using tools like Kubernetes and Helm.
• Strong communication skills and a focus on project delivery.
• Educational background in computer science or equivalent work experience.
