Base pay range

CA$90.00 / hr - CA$115.00 / hr

ENGINEER, SITE (STRUCTURAL), P.Eng

Contract - 12 Months (with a strong possibility of extension)

THE OPPORTUNITY :

We are looking for a skilled Site Structural Engineer to join a dynamic team and provide technical support and oversight for structural engineering activities. This role is key to ensuring that construction and maintenance projects are completed in accordance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. You will work closely with contractors, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure efficient and effective site operations. The Site Structural Engineer will be responsible for maintaining project quality and compliance, addressing on-site challenges, and ensuring the smooth progression of engineering tasks.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY :

  • Developing and maintaining engineering standards and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Assisting the project team in developing and reviewing engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborating with the reliability team to assess equipment and systems, identifying risks, and improving performance.
  • Monitoring site activities with the maintenance team to ensure compliance with designs, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Providing technical support to contractors, project managers, and site personnel during execution.
  • Conducting site inspections to ensure construction and maintenance work meets specifications and quality standards.
  • Resolving technical issues with the project team to maintain timelines and quality requirements.
  • Tracking project progress, identifying delays, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety policies in all engineering activities.
  • Supporting quality control and assurance procedures, including material testing and inspections.
  • Documenting site activities, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to implement engineering solutions that improve efficiency and safety.
  • Participating in project meetings to provide updates on activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Assisting in commissioning and handing over completed projects, ensuring proper documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • P.Eng. in Structural Engineering with EGBC.
  • Consulting design experience of more than 5 years and terminal or owner role experience of more than 3 years.
  • Preference for experience in bulk material loading / unloading in waterfront, mining, or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and design / project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address challenges promptly.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with contractors and project teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and adapt in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

COMPENSATION : $90 / hr to $115 / hr
