Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated Technical Sales Account Engineer to join our VPG Foil Resistors team for the West Coast territory. The main goal of this position is to generate new design wins by communicating with engineers at existing and new customers. The role also involves maintaining existing business by ensuring designs continue to use Foil Resistors. The Solutions Engineer must explore and find new customers and introduce them to Foil Resistor technology.

Applicant must reside in the Western US territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly onsite and virtual customer visits
  • Generate and manage new business opportunities in target market segments
  • Cultivate relationships with design engineers and strategic accounts
  • Promote VPG Foil Resistor brands: Alpha Electronics, VFR, Powertron, and APR
  • Perform comprehensive technical consultations and product presentations
  • Maintain detailed account reports and CRM documentation
  • Target market segments including Data Center Fiber Optics, ATE / Semiconductor, EV Battery Management Infrastructure, Space Satellite Communication, Industrial Automation
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering field preferred (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electronics, Robotics, Automotive, or Instrumentation)
  • 5+ years of successful face-to-face technical electronics sales experience
  • New Business Development experience
  • OEM Experience
  • Proven track record in achieving design-in objectives
  • Applicants residing in a Western US state are preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of passive components is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of electronic component technologies
  • Strategic analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Travel Expectations

Up to 35% travel required.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Base Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
  • Company-sponsored benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D insurance, disability, and FSA

  • Company 401(k) Plan with 4% employer match (100% vested upon hire)
  • Paid vacation and holidays

The salary range considers various experience levels and potential for growth within the role. Offers and salary increases are based on individual qualifications and location.
