The Opportunity

You will be an integral part of the Mica team, supporting our Montney assets in NE BC / NW AB. You will plan, execute, and track the asset’s capital program. You will support the development and delivery of the company’s capital and operating plans and continual optimization of the Montney assets while participating in our HSE program. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will also be responsible for identifying growth opportunities by supporting our evaluation of crown land sales, farm-ins, and acquisition and divestiture activities.
What you will do
Develop and execute our short and long term capital and operating plans
Complete economic analysis and provide input on capital allocation decisions, including managing capital budget forecasting and tracking
Provide engineering support for existing and new play concepts, including optimizing drilling, completion, and infrastructure strategies to enhance economics
Monitor industry and competitor activity and identify opportunities for new technology application, consolidation, farm-ins, and land acquisition
Support multi-disciplinary teams to manage accurate drilling inventory
Apply previous oil and gas asset evaluation experience to conduct technical evaluations for acquisition targets and prepare business proposals including risk assessments and economic evaluations
Lead the team in the maintenance and delivery of corporate reserve bookings for Mica and provide technical justification to independent reserve evaluators
What you will bring
Senior level engineering experience, with 8 years in drilling, completions, production, reservoir, exploitation, and / or development
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and registered as a professional engineer with APEGA
Experience in Unconventional North American resource plays, with a strong preference for Montney experience
Strong proficiency in short and long term planning, budgeting, forecasting, asset evaluations, and the ability to influence decisions through technical analysis
Demonstrated ability to identify technical opportunities and successfully implement value added projects and experience in acquisitions, divestitures, and evaluations
Detailed understanding of geologic concepts in relation to Exploitation & Reservoir Engineering
Software experience in Harmony, GeoScout, and Mosaic; experience with Power BI and data analytics considered an asset
