Job Description: Back End Developer at Pine

About the Team

As a Back End Developer, you will report to the Head of Engineering and collaborate closely with Pine’s engineering team to bring your work to life.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality code in languages such as Kotlin and Python.
• Work on a cross-functional engineering team.
• Design and implement complex data models in Postgres.
• Participate in technical design and planning discussions.
• Uphold standards for quality by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating automated tests, and monitoring performance.
• Help manage our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure on AWS.
• Develop and support high availability, high performance APIs within an Agile development environment.
• Collaborate with other developers to model and design new products.

Qualifications

• Ability to write high-quality, testable code and understand tradeoffs between expediency and maintainability.
• Familiarity with API design.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Experience with abstraction and applying it to learn new languages and frameworks.
• Experience with Git, including merging, branching methodologies, and release processes.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proactive problem-solving skills to assist in fixing issues when they arise.
