Impact XM is a global leader in event and experiential marketing. We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Oakville, Ontario.

Role Overview: A Human Resources Business Partner aligns HR strategies with business objectives, providing data-driven insights and supporting employee engagement initiatives. This strategic role advises business leaders on HR policies, performance management, and benefits, working closely with payroll and talent acquisition teams. The position emphasizes compliance, HR process efficiencies, and people data management to foster engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of HR principles, excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, global environment. Additionally, this role supports M&A integration planning and execution, ensuring smooth transitions and cultural alignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Employee Relations: Serve as a primary contact for employees and managers, advising on policies, engagement, performance, and benefits. Act as an advisor to resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environment. Collaborate proactively with HR and business leaders to enhance employee experience and productivity.
  2. Data Analytics and Operational Support: Analyze people metrics to identify trends and opportunities. Provide insights on engagement, retention, and performance. Lead audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance reviews. Use automation tools to streamline workflows and ensure data accuracy. Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for smooth transitions.
  3. M&A Integration Planning & Execution: Support HR due diligence, assess cultural and compliance risks, and develop integration plans. Assist in onboarding acquired employees and address challenges to optimize workforce integration.
  4. Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with recruitment teams and hiring managers to identify staffing needs. Participate in interviews and candidate selection. Manage temporary staffing and related logistics.
  5. Performance and Talent Management: Coach managers and employees on performance initiatives, goal setting, and development. Administer performance review programs ensuring fairness and compliance.
  6. Employee Development: Identify training needs, implement development programs, and conduct orientation to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
  7. HR Policy and Compliance: Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations. Implement policies promoting fairness and consistency. Manage employee leaves and investigations as needed.
  8. Payroll Support: Partner with payroll to ensure accurate HR data and processes. Advise on payroll policies and regulations, including T-4s, T220s, and compliance matters.
  9. Benefits Administration: Oversee employee benefits programs, manage databases, and liaise with insurance providers and employees.
  10. Change Management: Support organizational change initiatives, act as a culture champion, and facilitate communication and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience in a business partner or generalist role, or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law, experience with HR systems (preferably ADP WFN), data analytics, automation tools, and excellent communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach.
