The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Contracts & Procurement, the Buyer is responsible for procuring low-value goods and services efficiently, adhering to policies and maintaining accurate purchasing system data.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Facilitating procurement of goods and services
2. Expediting and returning goods as required
3. Obtaining pricing and commercial terms for requisitions
4. Maintaining electronic ordering systems
5. Maintaining vendor and item master data
6. Supporting documentation for audits
7. Interacting professionally with staff and vendors
8. Communicating accurately and effectively
9. Prioritizing tasks according to departmental guidance
10. Meeting internal client needs in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
11. Adhering to organizational policies and maintaining confidentiality

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00, 70 hours bi-weekly.

Your Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized two-year Business Administration or Supply Chain Management Diploma Program, or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Business, SCMP, or recognized equivalent
• Additional courses in procurement, logistics, supply chain, inventory management, etc., may be required
• Minimum of six (6) months related experience required
• Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in purchasing in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to negotiate with vendors
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with interprofessional teams
• High initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline
• Commitment to continual learning and knowledge sharing
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Additional language skills are an asset
