Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Superintendent to join our organization! As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising all construction activities on site, ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This position involves leading and managing onsite personnel and enforcing safety and work regulation policies.
This is a site-based position at our new project in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead all onsite activities to ensure safe, timely, and efficient project execution.
- Manage site information flow: RFIs / ASIs / SSIs / ESIs / MSIs / etc.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to meet project specifications.
- Create, monitor, and maintain the construction schedule in collaboration with the project manager.
- Liaise with city officials and build strong relationships.
- Chair weekly trade meetings and assist with monthly site meetings with the development team, project managers, directors, and trade partners.
- Create and update lookahead schedules; monitor subcontractors to maintain productivity.
- Review blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents; identify conflicts early.
- Coordinate and supervise trade partners, suppliers, and vendors.
- Inspect onsite work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes; monitor quality and progress.
- Manage and mentor field staff, providing tools, materials, and instructions.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient job site, enforcing safety policies.
- Handle field documentation: logs, photos, safety inspections, and reports.
- Order materials and schedule inspections, coordinating utilities and authorities as needed.
- Proactively address project challenges with positive solutions.
- Oversee the project from excavation to handover.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with wood frame multi-family (4-6 stories) projects on concrete parkades, from start to finish, on at least 2 projects.
- Gold Seal Certification is a strong asset or in progress.
- Red Seal Ticket in Carpentry and First Aid ticket are assets.
- Valid driver’s license without restrictions.
- Experience with multi-building projects with phased occupancy.
- Ability to evaluate trade partner performance and read technical documentation.
- Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
- Proficient with MS Project, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore.
- Knowledge of construction disciplines, safety, scheduling, cost control, and engineering drawings.
- Personable and professional communication skills.
- Successful background check required.
Working Conditions
- Availability for 24/7 work may be required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Travel to site and off-site locations required.
- Overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.

Salary Range: $120,000-140,000
Candidates with less experience but strong potential may be considered for the Assistant Site Superintendent role.
