Our client is a mid-sized General Contractor with operations across Ontario and internationally. In the Greater Ottawa Metropolitan Area, they specialize in small to mid-sized ICI projects, ranging from interior fit-outs to mid-scale new builds.
Job Description
As a Site Superintendent, you will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and trades to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects. You will oversee the day-to-day operations on commercial and retail construction sites. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Coordinating and supervising subcontractors, trades, and on-site personnel.
Maintaining clear and effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
Creating, updating, and managing project schedules to meet critical milestones and proactively addressing any issues that arise.
Monitoring project progress and providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Collaborating closely with the Project Management team and other internal departments to support project goals.
Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

The Successful Applicant
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Site Superintendent within an established ICI General Contractor.
Proven track record managing multiple full-cycle new construction and interior renovation projects in the retail and commercial sectors.
Educational background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Strong expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire diverse teams.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of construction safety requirements and regulations.
Proficient in construction management software (Procore) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
