Position Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Software Architect to help shape the architecture of Autodesk Fusion’s next-generation cloud platform. In this role, you will design scalable, resilient, and secure systems that support millions of users. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to drive technical strategy, modernize our cloud infrastructure, and champion best practices in distributed systems and API-first design.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the software architecture and system design of highly scalable, distributed, and resilient product capabilities.

2. Partner closely with product teams and leadership in defining strategic technical roadmap, communicate the strategy in various forums, and make it a reality.

3. Champion adopting industry best practices to push the development standards within the team and in the larger organization.

4. Align the technical direction with business needs, leading the team to make the correct compromises between short-term business opportunity and long-term technical vision.

5. Help to hire, mentor engineers, and help build fast-growing and high-performing teams.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

2. 15+ years of experience in leading design of complex systems and hands-on development.

3. Extensive experience with technologies such as Spring Boot (Java), Node.js, SQL/NoSQL databases.

4. Familiarity with other languages and technologies such as C# and Object Graphs is a plus.

5. Strong background in designing and implementing APIs, with hands-on experience in RESTful services and/or GraphQL.

6. Proven experience working in a cloud-heavy environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with a solid understanding of software architecture, implementation, and deployment lifecycles.

7. Strong experience with container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes or similar technologies.

8. 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role for large, distributed organizations, designing systems and scaling them to millions of users.

9. Thorough understanding of Distributed Systems concepts, scalability, reliability, and security challenges.

10. Demonstrated high levels of ownership and accountability, working closely with engineering teams to deliver results.

11. Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS architectures with a deep appreciation for platform and API-first mindset.

12. Experience building fully automated development workflows, including validation, adherence to best practices, builds, and deployments.
