Job summary

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant at St. Gregory School for a 1.0 FTE permanent position, effective November 2, 2026.

The role supports students with varied needs, utilizing augmentative communication and behavior strategies to foster inclusive learning communities. Applicants should hold a two-year post-secondary diploma and have experience with remote learning tools, strong communication, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
• Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior and anger management needs.
• Preference for candidates with direct experience with behavior exceptionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience with behavior modification strategies.
• Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
• Experience using technology and digital tools supporting remote learning (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet).
• Excellent interpersonal skills; and good written and oral communication skills.
• Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

Mandatory Requirements

Preferred Requirements

• Non-violent crisis intervention training would be an asset
