Job summary

Winnipeg School Division is seeking an Educational Assistant C to support students with educational/development disabilities and behavior needs in a 3.0 hour-per-day role. You will assist teachers, supervise students, and help with instructional activities in a collaborative school setting.

The position requires strong communication, patience, and the ability to follow IEP/BIP guidance, with First Aid/CPR certification preferred and related experience.

Qualifications

• Complete secondary education or equivalent related work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with students with social, academic, and/or behavioural difficulties.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Educational Assistant Diploma or Certificate an asset.
• Valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certificate is an asset (will provide training and/or re-certification)

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional and general assistance to individual or small groups of students.
• Assists teachers, monitors student progress and behaviour; maintains records.
• Assists with IEPs and BIPs; supports field trips and events.
• Administers first aid and medications per guidelines; may provide translation.
• Ensures safety and supervision during recess and bus transport.
