Job summary

This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. October 20, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support students and teachers in creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment. You will collaborate with classroom staff and other professionals to assist students in their learning, participation, and overall development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to supporting diverse learner needs.

Key responsibilities

• supporting students individually and in groups with classroom learning activities
• reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher
• assisting with independent work and monitoring progress
• supervising students in the classroom, hallways, playground, and during arrival, dismissal, and school activities
• supporting behavior management strategies
• assisting with observation, documentation, and reporting for meetings and conferences
• You may also be required to assist with personal care needs

This is a full-time probationary position (30 hours per week) to commence as soon as possible. Preference will be given to candidates with training in special education or a related field, and experience supporting individuals with special needs.
