The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.
The CLSI Education Team, within the science division, is guided by three main goals. First, we aim to create space for Indigenous Ways of Knowing, demonstrating how Indigenous and mainstream scientific worldviews can respectfully coexist and enhance one another within our education programming. Second, we seek to transform STEM education by promoting experiential, inquiry-based learning, incorporating cutting-edge research, and fostering a more inclusive environment. Finally, we strive to expand representation in science, creating opportunities for learners to see themselves – and be seen – as part of a science community.
CLSI is now accepting applications to join the Education team as an Education Specialist – Indigenous Relations. The Education Specialist is responsible for guiding how Indigenous perspectives are woven throughout development, organization, implementation, and delivery of STEM focused CLSI educational projects, programs, events, and cooperative activities in accordance with CLSI strategic science goals. The Education Specialist works collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop and deliver programs and educational resources appropriate for use in formal and informal education contexts, primarily as professional development for STEM educators.
Salary Range: The Salary Range is $65,994 - $91,897.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including supplemental health & dental, life insurance, pension plan, and four weeks’ vacation is part of a competitive compensation package.
