Job description

Education Assistant

The Burnaby School District is seeking qualified Education Assistants for on-call assignments.

Education Assistants are responsible for providing support for students in and out of the classroom, and within the community. Specifically, assistance is provided in the following:

  1. Behaviour management
  2. Curriculum implementation
  3. Social skills development
  4. Personal care
  5. Physical assistance

To be considered, candidates must have the following:

Required Qualifications:

  1. Successful completion of a recognized program in special needs assistance (e.g., Education Assistant Program);
  2. One (1) year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience;
  3. Good verbal and written communication skills;
  4. Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Hourly Rate: $35.11 per hour.
