Saanich School District is seeking a crossing guard to help ensure the safety of students as they travel to and from school. The role carries a fixed daily shift and operates for 10 months of the year while classes are in session.

The position offers a stable schedule with a paid hourly rate. Training, including potential Crossing Guard training, is available as needed. End date for the contract is June 29, 2027.

Current Shift: 8:10am- 2:48pm Monday to Friday
(Includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch) 10 months per year while regular classes are in session
Additional minutes per day are included in the 'Current Shift' schedule above, which staff are expected to work daily in lieu of the spring break closure week in order to allow employees in continuing and temporary assignments to be paid their regular pay during the spring closure week as per Letter of Understanding - Spring Closure Week.
Pay Rate: $31.77
This position is entitled to collaboration time as outlined in the current Letter of Understanding - Support Staff Learning Improvement Fund.
End Date: Before school hours (8:10am to 8:40am) are temporary and end on June 29, 2027
Successful candidate may receive Crossing Guard training in order to fill in when necessary
