Crossing Guard training

Job summary

Saanich School District is seeking a crossing guard to assist students during arrival and dismissal times in the Victoria area. The role follows a consistent current shift and contributes to student safety while school is in session.

Pay rate is $30.20 per hour, with potential training provided. The position runs for approximately 10 months per year, with an end date of June 29, 2027. Some duties may require on-call coverage on Wednesdays as needed.

Current Shift: 8:40am- 2:48pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Days of the week may change based on the needs of the school. Option exists to work on-call Wednesday if interested.

(Includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch) 10 months per year while regular classes are in session

Additional minutes per day are included in the ‘Current Shift’ schedule above, which staff are expected to work daily in lieu of the spring break closure week in order to allow employees in continuing and temporary assignments to be paid their regular pay during the spring closure week as per Letter of Understanding -Spring Closure Week.

Pay Rate: $30.20

This position is entitled to collaboration time as outlined in the 2022-2025 Letter of Understanding - Support Staff Learning Improvement Fund.

End Date: June 29, 2027

Successful candidate may receive Crossing Guard training in order to fill in when necessary
