British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education is seeking an Education Assistant at South St'a7mes School, District – Sea to Sky. Employment starts immediately, with 5.5 hours per day during school days. Rate of pay is $33.69 per hour.

The successful candidate will support students with disabilities and other needs under the supervision of the principal and classroom teacher, ensuring alignment with program goals.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 completed plus a related program and 6–12 months of related experience.
• Capilano University Education Assistant Program is an example of the required program.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
• Knowledge of basic First Aid.
• Basic knowledge of learning tools (eg. computers).

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical, intellectual, or behavioral needs under supervision.
• Supervise designated areas before, during, and after school as assigned.
• Deliver a higher level of care as required by the role.

EDUCATION ASSISTANT

Location: District – South St'a7mes School

Effective: Immediately

Hours: 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant)

Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.

This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.

Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
